Ubisoft Talks Shop About Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on PS4

Ubisoft releases a Conversation with Creators video talking shop about Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and how the PlayStation 4 makes it better.

Ubisoft has released a video about the power of the PlayStation 4 and how it will effect Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. In the video, Creative Director Jean Guesdon and Associate Producer Sylvain Trittier talk shop and go over how the increased CPU, GPU and RAM will allow video games–and specficially Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag–to have better graphics than games on the PlayStation 3. They also talk about how developers will be able to add greater detail to PlayStation 4 games which cannot be added to the current gen consoles like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The pair also mention how the share button on the PlayStation 4 will allow players to easily connect to their friends even while playing a single player game. The share button allows players to share video or show their friends what they are currently playing. This particular feature is frequently seen in MOBA games on PC (and other games that allow spectating). With the PlayStation 4 share button, it should make for a more convenient form of social gaming as distant friends can gather around their respective PlayStation 4 consoles and talk about the single player portion of a game.

In the video, the two Ubisoft developers also talk about how the PlayStation 4 will allow for seamless gameplay, without loading times. They discuss how seamless boarding will allow players in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag to go from the shore to the ship, out to open water and board other ships without the gameplay stopping to load up the next section. The process of seamless boarding sounds great and we can only hope that other developers will be able to achieve the same effect in their games as well.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is scheduled for release on October 29th for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Next Xbox, Wii U and PC. Stay tuned to Gamer Horizon as we will bring you all the latest news for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
