Sean Mesler

DrowningRoom

Gamer Horizon Alumnus

Born in New Jersey, raised in New York, Sean’s love of video games is only rivalled by his love of movies and music. Growing up he kept himself busy with gaming, performing in hardcore bands and studying film by first absorbing as much as possible before even attending film school. He prides himself on being a master of time management by balancing work, life and entertainment – squeezing every single minute of his waking life dry.

In 2009 Sean left New York and his hardcore bands behind to pursue filmmaking in Los Angeles. Along the way his passion for video games lead him to writing about them. Having landed a gig at a small enthusiast site it wasn’t long before he was recruited by Gamer Horizon to help the upstart become a full-time gig. Within less than 9 months Sean was able to attend E3 for the first time as a member of the gaming media.

Sean is into shooters and action/adventure games primarily, but also loves him some RPGs and horror as well. He doesn’t PC game and immensely dislikes indie games that look like they were made for the NES.

Sean now resides in Downtown, Los Angeles, with his beautiful girlfriend and his two chihuahuas – Zippy, and GoGo (R.I.P. Zoe – you will be forever loved and missed).

First video game you ever played

I honestly have no idea. It was definitely in an arcade.

Gyromite. I used R.O.B. exactly one time. Instead, I set both controllers down on a box on my lap and played both like a piano.

First video game system you purchased with your own money

Honestly, the PS3. I’ve managed to get every other console I have ever owned as a gift.
