Sony Releases Live Action God of War: Ascension Trailer

Sony released a live action trailer promoting God of War: Ascension ahead of its Super Bowl debut yesterday and we have it right here! See Kratos before he declared vengeance against the Gods, how he became the Ghost of Sparta and why everything he touches turns to ash. Listen to Ellie Goulding’s “Hanging On” as Kratos’ enemies close in around him.

God of War: Ascension is a prequel to the original God of War sold on the PlayStation 2. In this game, Kratos (voiced by Terrence C. Carson) is a Spartan soldier who is in the service of Ares and is tricked into killing his wife and child. He vows vengeance and sets off across Athens on an depraved quest given to him by Athena to kill Ares.

In addition to standard editions of the game, Sony is also releasing a God of War: Ascension Legacy bundle for the hardcore God of War fanatic. This bundle comes with a 500 GB Garnet Red Playstation 3, God of War: Ascension and the God of War saga (which includes all five previous games from the franchise) for $350. Or you can purchase the God of War: Ascension Collector’s Edition which includes a 8″ Kratos statue, game soundtrack, an avatar pack, and multiplayer heroes for only $80.

God of War: Ascension is developed by Sony Santa Monica Studios and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game releases on March 12, 2013 and includes a multiplayer feature new to the God of War franchise.
