Another week, another list of new games and Gamer Horizon features! Here’s what’s On The Horizon:

An odd combination of genres, Dead Island: Riptide is a survival horror action role playing game that takes place after the events of 2011’s Dead Island. After finally getting off of the island, the survivors end up getting stuck on yet another island with–you guessed it–more zombies! Dead Island: Riptide will be available on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Tuesday, April 23rd in North America and Wednesday, April 24th in Europe and Australia.

Next up is Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, which is an expansion pack to the action role playing game, Dragon’s Dogma. Despite being an expansion, this is a standalone product that includes all of the content of the original game so that newcomers can start their journey from the very beginning. Veterans will also be rewarded with 100,000 rift crystals and an armor pack that includes 6 costumes. Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen adds more than 100 new pieces of equipment, new high level skills and augments and an all new quest which takes place after the events of the original game. The expansion will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Tuesday, April 23rd in North America, Thursday, April 25th in Japan and Friday April 26th in Europe.

This week we’re also getting a new video game set in the Star Trek universe, appropriately titled Star Trek. An action adventure game with 3rd person shooter gameplay, Star Trek lets players control Kirk and Spock as they defend the new Vulcan colony that comes under attack by the Gorn. The game includes “drop-in” cooperative gameplay where a 2nd player can jump in or leave the game at any time as whichever character the first player is not controlling. Although releasing within close proximity to the upcoming movie, Star Trek features an original storyline. Star Trek will be released on Tuesday, April 23rd in North America and on Friday, April 26th in Europe for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

We’ve got some great articles coming to you this week here on Gamer Horizon. Sean is writing what may turn out to be a controversial article on the subject of the flaws of Bioshock Infinite. I suppose no game is perfect! Chris is writing about how the many choices in the Mass Effect trilogy can lead to players ending up with very different perceived versions of Commander Shepard. Ari has been worried about the future of SimCity ever since EA decided to pull the plug on SimCity Social. Could SimCity suffer the same fate? Last, but certainly not least, Ted is reviewing Injustice: Gods Among Us, and will also be providing our weekly PlayStation Plus update.

So that’s what’s On The Horizon this week! Enjoy your dragons, zombies and Vulcan neck pinches!
