On The Horizon: Defiance

Welcome back to another week at Gamer Horizon and On The Horizon, our weekly update on what games are coming out and what we have planned for the website.

This week’s headlining game is Defiance, a persistent online open world third-person shooter based on the Syfy television series. Players will be able to create and customize their own character as they level up through solo play or alongside others. Defiance was developed (and will be published) by Trion Worlds and will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC this Tuesday, April 2nd. Check out the launch teaser below titled, “Welcome to the New Age”:

This Tuesday also marks the release of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, an improved version of Ninja Gaiden 3. Previously released on Wii U, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge features an increased level of violence and gore (dismemberment), additional weapons and Ninpo (Ninja Arts), an extra playable character (Ayane, pictured below) and more. The versions being released on Tuesday will be published by Koei Tecmo, and the game was developed by Team Ninja.

This week Gamer Horizon will be bringing you a review for Bioshock Infinite, courtesy of Ted. Alex will be delivering a feature that’ll surely beĀ memorable. Ari is spending some more time with SimCity and documenting what has changed since the game launched on March 5th. Sean and Chris are working on mysterious editorials that are sure to be enlightening once they actually reveal what they will be about. And as always, we’ll be keeping you up to date with the latest news in the world of video games, and Ted will be providing his weekly PlayStation Plus update!

Also, if you haven’t already, check out our WonderCon 2013 coverage! Alex wrote his impressions of Resident Evil Revelations, and Ted got to spend some time with The Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3!

Oh! I forgot to mention… Ted will be providing one more review for a game that is very dear to his heart… or something that rhymes with it anyway. Should be an interesting week, no foolin’!
