Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch launched yesterday and our friends at Namco Bandai Games released a trailer to commemorate this occasion!
In case you don’t know, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a collaboration between RPG veterans Level-5, the folks responsible for such games as Rogue Galaxy, White Knight Chronicles, and Dragon Quest VIII and IX and Studio Ghibli, known for animated films such as Kiki’s Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro and, much recently, The Secret World of Arriety. In this game, you are a young boy named Oliver who’s had tragedy befall him one day. Thanks to the help of a mystical being named Drippy, he sets off on a quest to try and undo this tragedy and at the same time save an alternate world ruled by a Djinn who can steal people’s hearts.
Having played the game last night, I can honestly say that while Level-5’s trademark attention to detail and style is apparent all over, it’s got that Studio Ghibli charm to it that makes their movies so memorable. If you haven’t tried it yet, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch has a demo out on the PlayStation Store that you can download that gives you a pretty good idea of how the battles play out, in addition to short glimpses of the story.
Not convinced yet? Then come on back soon for our review of this game! In the mean time, check out this awesome trailer brought to us by the folks at Namco Bandai Games!
