Capcom has announced a new character for Resident Evil: Revelations Raid Mode. Rachel, who made her Resident Evil debut on the 3DS on February 7 in North America, will be joining Hunk in Raid Mode. As an agent for the United States Federal Government’s anti-bioterrorism taskforce F.B.C. (Federal Bioterrorist Commission), Rachel and her partner Raymond Vester are sent to the S.S. Queen Zenobia. There they discover a link between the terrorist attack on Terragrigia (Italian for “Grey Earth”) one year ago and the ship they are on. Attendees of PAX EAST will be able to play as both new characters this weekend in the Capcom booth #948. Two brand new enemies will appear in Resident Evil: Revelations. The first is the Wall Blister and the second is a surprise new creature that appears in Raid Mode once players have reached a certain level.
Wii U owners will be able to take advantage of new features only available on that system. Players can quick access their in-game map, weapons and items from the GamePad. They can switch the GamePad out for a Wii U Pro Controller and alternatively transfer the game from the TV to the GamePad as the title utilizes Off TV play. Using Miiverse functionality, players can post a dying message on the Game Over screen. There is a ‘Creature’s Voice’ function that allows players to personalize the thoughts of enemies in Raid Mode to taunt their friends. Residentevil.net is an online events and in-game connectivity page that is designed to collect and compare data taken from Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil: Revelations. This service is similar to Halo Waypoint in that it offers challenges to unlock rewards. There will be exclusive dioramas of the game’s characters and enemies that can be collected through the online service. Players will also be able to earn custom parts and weapons for Raid Mode and items for use Campaign Mode.
Resident Evil: Revelations will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U across North America on May 21 and Europe on May 24.
