Microsoft To Reveal Next Xbox On May 21st

It’s official, Microsoft has set a date to reveal information on their next generation Xbox console. Rumors will be laid to rest as consumers will finally get a glimpse of what’s in store for them on the Next Xbox. Microsoft plans on broadcasting the event over Xbox Live and on Spike TV in the US and Canada. The event will take place on May 21st at the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, Washington. Microsoft will most likely talk about the hardware specifications of their next gen console and show off all of the entertainment choices that will be available through it.

“On Tuesday May 21st, we’ll mark the beginning of a new generation of games, TV and entertainment. On that day, we’ll be holding a special press event on the Xbox campus and we invite you to join us via the live global stream that will be available on, Xbox LIVE and broadcast on Spike TV if you are in the US or Canada.”

“On that day, we’ll share our vision for Xbox, and give you a real taste of the future. Then, 19-days later at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, we’ll continue the conversation and showcase our full lineup of blockbuster games.”

“We are thrilled to pull back the curtain and reveal what we’ve been working on.”

In the past few years, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 has been able to outsell the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3 in the United States. That may be why Microsoft has waited to make any formal announcements, letting Sony and Nintendo reveal their hands first. Whether that’s a good thing or not, Microsoft has a lot to live up to. The bar has been set high by Sony during their press conference giving Microsoft the chance to sink or swim past the competition. With Sony only showing the controller at their PS4 conference, Microsoft may try to one up them and show the entire console leaving only game announcements for the E3 showing.
