Last week information leaked about Activision and Infinity Ward’s latest shooter Call of Duty: Ghosts. The information was leaked by UK retailer Tesco, who put out a ad with box art advertising the upcoming title with a release date of November 5. YouTube user Drift0r also chimed in on the same day with leaked information of his own on the subject. IGN has managed to confirm the title and launch date for Call of Duty: Ghosts for November 5, 2013 with help from a Gamestop poster. Both the poster and the box art depict British special-forces operator Lt. Simon “Ghost” Riley from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Activision has placed a teaser for the upcoming game on the official Call of Duty website at “callofduty.com.” Anyone who visits the is redirected to “callofduty.com/______.” The front page of the site shows an image of the skull-patterned balaclava which is comprised of tiny individual thumbnails. These thumbnails appear to be users who shared messages through Twitter or Facebook with the hashtag #CallofDuty. There’s a magnifying glass tool to magnify the images, making them individually perceptible, and a “Find Me” above the image so guests can see if they made it into the mosaic.
If the image on the poster and box art is Lt. Simon “Ghost” Riley, then it’s safe to assume that the game will follow his exploits. Hopefully it won’t turn out to anything like Gears of War: Judgment with Lt. Baird as the main protagonist. We will just have to wait and see. Activision will be holding an official reveal of Call of Duty: Ghosts tomorrow, May 1. Stay tuned to Gamer horizon as we will bring you all the latest information on Call of Duty: Ghosts and the Activision reveal.
