Atlus and Vanillaware have announced a pre-order bonus for Dragon’s Crown. The pre-order bonus is a 64 page art book illustrated by renowned game artist and Vanillaware president George Kamitani. The book features a watercolor art style which depicts the beautifully illustrated characters and lush locations from the game. Along with the full color artwork, the Dragon’s Crown art book will include descriptions written by George Kamitani and commissioned illustrations from other renowned game artists including Akira Yasuda (Akiman), Kinu Nishimura, and Gouda Cheese (BENGUS).
The book, titled Dragon’s Crown Art Works, will be in limited supply, so anyone interested in picking up the game or those that have already pre-ordered might want to verify that the art book will be included with their order. The book sounds like a nice addition, and the images show it to be a full sized art book that is larger than the cases that games come in. Often, the art books included as pre-order bonuses are similar in size to a DVD jewel case. I’ve gotten several art books for pre-ordering games and although they were nice looking, they were never this size. Normally, an art book of this size and quality would have to be purchased separately, as the cost would keep most publishers and developers from giving it away. This has me intrigued as to the actual size of the book considering that it’s a pre-order bonus and not for a collector’s edition. I’ll just have to go into the local Gamestop and see what information they have. Hopefully the book matches up to its appearance in the image.
Dragon’s Crown is scheduled for releaseon August 6th, 2013 exclusively for the PlayStation 3 and Vita. Stay tuned to Gamer Horizon as we will bring you all the latest updates on Dragon’s Crown.
Looks awesome, I would get this instead of D&D:Collection from Capcom. I enjoyed Vanillaware games.
