Visceral Games Hiring for Star Wars Game

Visceral Games has begun hiring developers to help work on a next generation Star Wars title for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The company that created the Dead Space franchise is currently looking for an “experienced Senior Game Designer” that can ” lead the design and guide a pre-vis team.” The project is in the earliest stages of design and the team is currently working on concept art. The Senior Designer position was posted on May 21, 2013 on sologig.com, a job board site that host positions for IT and Engineering Professionals. The position at Visceral Star Wars - FatherGames will be full time and located at EA’s Redwood City, California studio. The position is asking for an experienced individual who is open minded, creative and can work in a team environment. They must also have shipped 2+ AAA games in the past and have a passion for Star Wars.

Earlier this month, EA signed an exclusive deal with Disney to release Star Wars titles. EA said that in house developers like Bioware, Visceral Games and DICE will begin working on brand new titles for the Star Wars franchise but those games won’t ship until 2014. After the acquisition, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen hinted that EA would be inclined to revive old Star Wars franchises like Star Wars: Battlefront. Free Radical Design developed the Star Wars: Battlefront games from 2006 to 2008. Star Wars: Battlefront 3 was never released but Free Radical Design leaked footage of the game. With EA owning the exclusive rights to make Star Wars games, it is everyone’s hopes that DICE will take the helm and revive this particular franchise. It seems pretty likely that this will happen, but it’s best to wait and see what EA says on the subject. If EA decides to do this, a revived Star Wars: Battlefront 3 would be a better fit over the failed attempts to revive the Medal of Honor franchise. Now all we need to know is what game Bioware will be working on. We can only hope it’s Star Wars: 1313.
