Happy Monday everyone! Welcome to a brand new edition of On The Horizon, where we talk about what’s going on this week in the world of gaming and, of course, what kinds of content we’ll be providing on the site for your viewing pleasure.
This week, we’ll be seeing the release of the Terraria Collector’s Edition bundle. While the game has been out for multiple platforms, the Collector’s Edition will include a USB key, crafting map, and three character posters. Most notably, between the PS3 and Xbox 360, the latter will be the only one of the two receiving a physical release with the PS3 edition being a digital only release. Now, I’ve only played Terraria for a short while, but I really appreciated its depth and its comparisons to Minecraft. Since it’s also coming out on mobile devices, I’ll be sure look out for that version once it comes out later in the summer. In the meantime, here’s a trailer!
This week on Gamer Horizon, we have a brand spanking new podcast with the entire Gamer Horizon crew, edited by Sean, that’s sure to be one of the best we’ve ever recorded. Ever. We also have a review of Dragon’s Crown due this Wednesday at noon Pacific Time which, if you’re following my Raptr account, was what I’ve been playing over the past week or so. On top of this, we have Ari’s review of Magic The Gathering 2014: Duels of the Planeswalkers that’ll be due out sometime this week. And, of course, there’s the requisite Roundhouse Roundup from Ted, all the news from Chris, and all the amazing weekly content like Top 5, PlayStation Plus Update, and What’s Up Weekend to fill your gaming week.
We also want to let our readers know that our friends at SpawnFirst are having a contest. The prizes include Steam versions of Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Amnesia: Dark Descent, Killing Floor, and The Walking Dead Season 1 Complete Collection. The contest will run from July 29th all the way until August 11th with a different game being given away as a prize every 2 days. They have more details on their site here.
Have a fantastic week everyone and be sure to let us know what you’re looking forward to this week in the comments below!
