Oh man, we’re really getting down to it now! We’re only three weeks away from the next gen! And yet the current gen is doing a great job of keeping us all busy. As for this weekend, it seems like most of the crew will be taking a day or two off from gaming for a variety of reasons, including one rather sad one.
Things and stuff. Stuff and things. All very hush hush. That and celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday. Unfortunately, last weekend one of our three dogs, Zoe, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly so our plan is to take Zippy and GoGo out for a walk in a park to cheer them up, then head to a mall somewhere for a shopping spree to cheer my girlfriend up.
I seriously need to cut back on the JRPGs, but Nippon Ichi’s latest offerings are just too addicting. I spent the last couple weeks immersed in Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness, and now I’m playing through The Guided Fate Paradox, a game I knew nothing about at all until I found myself preparing to review it. This weekend I’m planning on hanging out with my best friend, but if that plan falls through, I’ll be granting wishes and raging over losing all of my carried and equipped gear upon death in The Guided Fate Paradox. Oh, I suppose I should mention that it’s a roguelike, dressed up in a Nippon Ichi costume. Speaking of costumes, it’s quite an appropriate game for Halloween! It’s even got a chapter about zombies.
I’ll be watching the elderly action movie Escape Plan with Alex tonight. Bad Grandpa also opens this weekend so I need to go see that as well.
Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is out. The first mainline Ace Attorney title in 5 years. That’s what’s up.
I’m actually going to be watching Escape Plan tonight with Chris and then Saturday will be… something. I still have to figure that out. Sunday will be a Disney day: going to Disneyland and watching Nightmare Before Christmas! Maybe I’ll try and actually finish both The Incredibles and Monsters Inc. play sets in Disney Infinity this weekend…
That it for this week’s What’s Up Weekend! Got any big plans for the next few days? Playing something particularly interesting? Let us know in the comments! Have a great weekend, everyone!
