The Fall gaming lineup continues! This week marks the official start of the big Fall releases and, while we’ve actually seen a trickle of games coming through these past few weeks as well as some notable ones, this week’s got us excited about two games: Battlefield 4 and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag! At any rate, without any further ado, let’s see what’s coming on the horizon!
First off, I want to make up for missing the release of Batman: Arkham Origins last week. Batman: Arkham Origins came out this past Friday and, for some reason, my source didn’t list it as one of the titles coming out last week! At any rate, Batman: Arkham Origins is set up prior to the events of the original Batman: Arkham Asylum and features improvements over Batman: Arkham City. Here’s a trailer for the game!
Battlefield 4’s showing at E3 wowed all of us here at Gamer Horizon, so much so that Ted has taken it upon himself to pick up the game. While he’s probably going to wait for the PlayStation 4 version to come out, gamers who don’t want to wait for the next generation versions can nab the game now! Just remember however that should you decide to get a next-generation console that Sony is allowing people to upgrade your current gen copy of the game to the next gen copy for an additional $10. $70 for both versions? Not too shabby! If you want to get excited over this game, here’s 17 awesome minutes of gameplay for you to oogle over… and it looks awesome!
I’ll admit: I did not like Assassin’s Creed III… and I can go on a whole tirade as to how it was a disappointment to me. But seeing Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag running on next-gen consoles is making me want it even more! And while Watch Dogs is now a May title, I want to have a title to get on my shiny new next-fen console. Will Assassin’s Creed 4 be this title? Who knows, but it’s coming out this week for current gen consoles and I’ll know by then whether or not I want to upgrade or stick with my copy of Assassin’s Creed 2. Here’s 13 minutes of Assassin’s Creed 4 for the time being!
Wrestling games! Yes, we got one coming out! WWE 2K14 is a new and improved version of last year’s title. I haven’t followed the series for a while, but I do know that Sean’s a big fan. Here’s the newest trailer for this game.
There’s other games coming out this week as well! Sonic Lost World is coming out for a variety of platforms, as well as Pac-man and the Ghostly Adventures, Monster High: 13 Wishes, The 2K Power Pack which contains The Darkness 2, Bioshock 2, and Mafia 2, Beyblade Evolution, Transformers Ultimate Battle Edition which contains Dark of the Moon and Cybertron Adventures, Transformers Autobot Edition which contains Dark of the Moon and Revenge of the Fallen, Angry Birds: Star Wars, and versions of Doodle Jump on other platforms.
This week on Gamer Horizon, I’ll be writing about the social makeup of Fabletown in The Wolf Among Us. Chris will be checking out how the current gen is doing at the end of its cycle. Sean has been into next generation stuff as of late, so he wants to write something about Microsoft this week. And finally, Ari’s been playing a rogue-like recently that’s unlike any rogue-like out there. Color me curious! If you are too, and you’re curious about the other things we’ll be writing about, make sure you bookmark or subscribe to our site and check out all the articles that we’ll be releasing this week. Hope you have a great week and we’ll see you around!
