PlayStation Plus Update for 2/19/13: Vanquish and Mega Man Maverick Hunter X

When PlayStation Plus updates tomorrow, it will bring not one, but TWO free games! Vanquish for the PS3, and Mega Man Maverick Hunter X for PS Vita and PSP.

Vanquish is a fast-paced, stylish third-person action game produced by Shinji Mikami and developed by Platinum Games, who are responsible for this week’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. One mechanic that sets Vanquish apart from other games are the boosters attached to your power suit that allow you to move at ludicrous speeds through the battlefield.

Mega Man Maverick Huinter X is a level-for-level remake of the Super Nintendo’s Mega Man X with modern graphics, a new soundtrack, and animated cutscenes. Note that even if you only have a PSP and not a Vita, you will still be able to download the game for free if you have a PlayStation Plus account.

In addition, the Dust 514 starter pack is free for PlayStation Plus members, normally a $9.99 value.

There’s only one game in this week’s discount, and it’s 20% off Urban Trial Freestyle ($11.99 on PS3, $7.99 on PS Vita). Please note that this game does NOT have Cross-Buy.

Retro City Rampage and Payday: The Heist will both be leaving PlayStation Plus to make room for these two games, and last week’s discounts on Derrick the Deathfin, Critter Crunch, Karateka, and NHL 13 will be ending as well.
