Bioware has released a lot of DLC for the Mass Effect franchise and Mass Effect 3 in specific. Following in the footsteps of “From Ashes,” “Extended Cut,” “Leviathan” and “Omega” DLC, Mass Effect 3: Citadel promises one last dance while “Reckoning” looks to continue the multiplayer party.
The first piece of DLC, “Reckoning”, is multiplayer focused, set to release on February 26 and will be completely free. “Reckoning” brings new characters, weapons and item upgrades for those still playing. The second will be the final single player DLC and will be called Mass Effect 3: Citadel. Bioware promises “one final sentimental journey” for Commander Shepard which will include the return of squad members like Wrex and Miranda.
Mass Effect 3: Citadel will arrive on March 5 for $14.99/1200 MS Points. This DLC will allow Shepard to reconnect with some of his (or her) old squad mates from previous games provided they are still alive. This DLC will cover a sinister conspiracy that targets Commander Shepard and it is up to you and your squad to hunt down the conspirators. “Uncover the truth through intrigue and battle and fight your way through the glamour of the Citadel’s Wards to the top-secret Council Archives.”
Once your killing spree has come to an end, you can reconnect with old friends by spending time at the Citadel’s Silver Coast Casino or blow off steam in the Armax Combat Arena. You’ll also get the opportunity to hook up with anyone you romanced in previous games in Command Shepard’s personal living quarters on the Citadel.
Note: For Xbox 360 owners, the “Citadel” DLC is so massive that it will have to be downloaded in two chunks. The first chunk will cost 1200 MSP and the second will be free.
