Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX Has North American Launch Window

Square Enix has officially announced the Fall 2013 release of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix in North America for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. Kingdom Hearts was developed and published by Square Enix, (originally SquareSoft) in collaboration with Disney Interactive Studios. It is an action role playing game which includes a mixture of Final Fantasy characters such as Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII and Disney characters, and is set in a unique Disney universe ruled by King Mickey.

Kingdom Hearts HDKingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix will include both Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories in high definition and have trophy support. Additionally the game will feature a theater Mode with 2 hours and 50 minutes of remastered cinematic scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days that will also have trophy support. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix HD is an HD re-release of the original Kingdom Hearts game on PlayStation 2 and follows the story of Sora as he is separated from his friends Riku and Kairi when their world, Destiny Island, is invaded by creatures known as the Heartless. It will contain all of the additional content from Final Mix, which has never been released in America before.

Kingdom Hearts RE: Chains of Memories was originally the Gameboy Advance title Kingdom Hearts: Chains of Memories released in 2004 and was later re-released for the PlayStation 2. This game is a direct sequel to the original Kingdom Hearts and stars main protagonist, Sora, searching a mysterious castle in search of his friends while his rival, Riku, explores the castle’s basement levels and fights his inner darkness. Kingdom Hearts RE: Chains of Memories is an intermediate story, bridging the gap between Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II and ends one year before the events of Kingdom Hearts II.

Kingdom Hearts originally launched in March 2002 for the PlayStation 2 console and quickly expanded with several additional entries to the franchise while selling over 18 million units worldwide. Square Enix and Disney Interactive have created one of the most unique and interesting franchises for the PlayStation and Gameboy consoles.

Its been some time since we saw a new Kingdom Hearts game and we are wondering if and when another title will be released. We will wait patiently for a new game and bide our time with Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix until then.
