PlayStation Plus Update for 3/5/13: Spec Ops: The Line

Spec Ops: The Line is free for PlayStation Plus members. I personally could not put this game down until it was finished, and I think it’s fantastic. There’s also a discount on the new BIT.TRIP Presents Runner2 Future Legend Of Rhythm Alien. It’ll be available for $11.99, $3 off the regular price.

In an unusual twist, Sony revealed what other games will be made free throughout the month of March. They will be, in no particular order:

  • Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention (PS Vita)
  • Joe Danger 2: The Movie (PS3)
  • Tekken 6 (PSP; Supported on PS Vita)
  • The Cave (PS3)

Sony also revealed which games will be removed from PlayStation Plus:

  • March 12th – Quantum Conundrum
  • March 19th – Dungeon Defenders
  • March 19th – Foosball 2012 PS Vita
  • March 26th – Plants Vs Zombies

The Vita 1-year anniversary sale continues. The following games are 30% off for everyone, and 50% off for PlayStation Plus members:

  • Army Corps of Hell
  • Big Sky: Infinity
  • BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend
  • Dokuro
  • DYNASTY WARRIORS NEXT
  • Knytt Underground
  • LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
  • LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes French
  • LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7
  • LEGO Lord of the Rings
  • Orgarhythm
  • Pure Chess
  • Retro City Rampage
  • Sine Mora (with Trial)
  • Spy Hunter
  • Street Fighter X Tekken
  • Sumioni: Demon Arts
  • Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

There are also a few games on sale that do not have a PlayStation Plus discount:

  • FIFA Soccer 13 (30% off)
  • Madden NFL 13 (30% off)
  • Oddworld Strangers Wrath (25% off)

These next 4 games are not related to PlayStation Plus, but I think it bears mentioning here because they are completely free when downloaded through the PlayStation Vita store, and do not have an expiration date. These games are yours to keep forever:

  • Wild Arms (PS one Classic)
  • Patapon (PSP)
  • Piyotama (PSP)
  • Patchwork Heroes (PSP)

So, to make room for all this goodness, Guardians of Middle Earth will be leaving the Instant Game Collection.  The Dust 514 Starter Pack will no longer be free, and Retro/Grade’s discount will be ending. The deals from last week’s PlayStation Vita 1-year anniversary will also be ending, and the discounts on the Gamer’s Choice Awards will end as well.
