Welcome back to On The Horizon, our weekly update on what games are coming out and what’s new on Gamer Horizon. Without further ado, on to the new releases!

Today marks the release of Fuse by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in North America (it will be released on May 31st in Europe). Fuse is an action game with a heavy focus on cooperative multiplayer gameplay for four players. Here’s what Insomniac has to say about the game:

What happens when humans gain access to powerful alien technology they were never meant to have? When a volatile energy source called Fuse falls into the wrong hands, the CIA calls in an elite contact team to retrieve it: Overstrike 9. Join up to three friends in team-based co-op play as you take down the rogue paramilitary corporation behind the theft. Use lethal teamwork, coordinate devastating attacks, and provide cover for one another with fringe-tech weapons and gadgets. The unique LEAP feature lets you instantly shift from agent to agent during combat, allowing you to take advantage of each one’s special arsenal. You’ll need your teammates and their firepower to stop a global arms race from spinning out of control.

The other big game coming out today (and on May 31st in Europe) is Grid 2, which is available on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Developed and published by Codemasters, Grid 2 is a racing game and the sequel to Race Driver: Grid. The game features a new handling system called “TrueFeel,” licensed tracks, iconic cars from the last 40 years, and an online campaign that is separate from the single player campaign. It may be a short week here at Gamer Horizon, but it’s still an exciting one! Chris has barely come up for air after submerging himself in the depths of the survival horror genre. When he finds the light, he’ll have an article on the subject. I happen to know he’s making his way through Amnesia: The Dark Descent at the moment… let’s hope he makes it back safely.
