That date in the title isn’t a typo; the PlayStation Store will be updating today in advance of tomorrow’s scheduled PSN maintenance. This week’s free PlayStation Plus title is Virtue’s Last Reward for the Vita, an adventure-puzzler with a wicked story (And I do mean wicked, literally). The sequel to Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, you are kidnapped and sent with eight other strangers to play a game. Lose, and your life is forfeit.
I bought this game new on day one, and don’t regret that I could have gotten it for free if I had waited. Virtue’s Last Reward has great puzzles with multiple solutions, the best voice acting I’ve heard in years, and a gripping narrative that I couldn’t put down. While you don’t need to have played Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors to enjoy this, some of the references in the game will go over your head if you haven’t.
We’ve also got some great discounts this week:
- Creat Studios Summer Survival Pack: 20% off for PlayStation Plus
- Fat Princess: 50% off, 75% off for PlayStation Plus
- Escape Plan 50% off, 75% off for PlayStation Plus
- Pool Nation 40% off for PlayStation Plus
- Hydrophobia: Prophecy 80% off for PlayStation Plus (Sixty Cents)
BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend for the Vita and Vanquish for the PlayStation 3 will be leaving the store tonight. Grab them if you haven’t already.
