If you’re looking to me to elaborate on the trailer I just saw, well, I can honestly tell you that your guess is as good as mine as to how the gameplay looks. But one thing’s for sure: now we know why Turtle Rock wanted to buy this IP from THQ during the auction last year, and these folks – who were responsible for Left 4 Dead by the way – look like they have something special on their hands.

Evolve’s publisher 2K Games is quick to note however that the creature you see towards the end of the trailer isn’t the only creature you’ll be facing. Called Goliath, it’s apparently to be joined by other creatures that they’ll sure to trickle little bits of information on as its Fall 2014 release approaches. The game is currently scheduled to be released on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Sorry PlayStation 3/Xbox 360/Wii U owners.

Oh, and I guess I should add that the Evolve trailer is rendered completely in-engine. Whatever that means.

Excited yet? The Left 4 Dead team is a good pedigree, and if the game is basically Left 4 Dead with alien creatures, I’m all for it. Thoughts?
