During an interview on CNN Turkey Sercan Sulun, PlayStation Eurasia’s Software Marketing Manager let slip that last year’s The Last of Us (review) is heading to the PlayStation 4 this summer. Well, slip might not be entirely true…
“There is no information about a new The Last of Us game but I can share this knowledge; as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically. The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play Left Behind (review) as well.”
Sony has yet to make a formal announcement regarding this port, but we suspect that a confirmation (or denial) is arriving soon.
If The Last of Us on PS4 is anything like Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, sign me up! Seeing as how this year’s releases seem to be thin on the next gen, any way to bring these titles to a different audience would be a welcome sight – as well as allowing some of us to replay it, or play it for the first time. Would you double dip on The Last of Us?
Update
Sony released a statement following the posting of this article:
“At no time have we announced that The Last of Us is coming to PS4 and therefore, have nothing to say on the subject.”
Article is updated. Sony denies that this exists: “At no time have we announced that The Last of Us is coming to PS4 and therefore, have nothing to say on the subject.”
