Transistor Releases May 20

Supergiant Games is an indie developer that needs no introduction. Responsible for the critically acclaimed Bastion, the company has since ported the title to multiple platforms, garnering even more praise and acclaim by gamers who’ve had the chance to discover the game’s unique flavor and fantasy. With Transistor, the team sets their sights on changing up the formula of action RPGs and, perhaps, retreading not so retreaded ground.

Transistor features a unique real time system that has an action point based system that you can spend to attack enemies onscreen. If your action points are spent, you are able to move around the map to avoid attacks and hits from enemies. The catch to this, of course, is that spending action points allows you to execute these moves in rapid succession. If this sounds vaguely similar to Vagrant Story to you, then you and I are thinking the same thing. But we’re all here for the release date announcement, right? And that is this:

Transistor releases May 20 for PlayStation 4 and PC.

Honestly, I’m pretty excited about the release date as this was one of those titles that I missed having the chance to play back at E3 2013. I’m happy that I’ll be able to get my hands on this title sooner than I anticipated.
