Place your bets now! In this episode of the Social Link Podcast, we catch up with each other’s gaming time and talk about emulation, of all things! Here’s what you can expect in this special 2 hour episode of the Social Link Podcast!
- Anthony’s playing a ton of old games. Can you guess what games?
- I, on the other hand, am playing more recent games… games like LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, Trials Fusion, Disney Magical World, and a game that I swore off and said I’d never ever play or buy ever again. Can you guess what that is?
- We also discuss emulation and when it’s ok and when it’s not ok to use. This goes into a deeper discussion about boycotts, even leading up to Nintendo’s draconian DRM system.
- And there’s a bet that occurs near the end of this episode… one that you will bear witness to. Curious yet?
Recorded on April 20, 2014. Happy 420 and Easter!

Very interesting podcast, can you re-illiterate the bet, anyway this Disney 3Ds game might be good base on Alex description, the cheapest I here was at TRU for $20, I’ll think about it. SMB3, I agree hands down the best Mario very, I have the NES cart, made a movie about it on my YT, played its All-Star version, and lastly Advance 4, that’s how I love the game, I prefer the Advance version because it’s fancy plus the E-Reader feature. So having fun with Pokemon Y, maybe we can exchange 3Ds friends code and play a Pokemon battle, I did send in my via FB personal message.
Ranma 1/2 Super Battle was released in the U.S. but I heard it was very limited, it’s even hard to find it in store, that’s how limited the game is, even NP reviewed the game, real shame. As for emulation, I agree on some aspect like playing games that are not going to be in the U.S., me I play the retro kind (and also make movies with them), most company don’t care about the retro kind since they loose alot of profit, they are more concern with recent games. But I remember SNK went out of business because one of the problem was emulation, but most company don’t care since some consumers buy it anyway on the Wii U and talk about it on MiiVerse, also look at what Nintendo doing with roms, NES Remix 1 & 2, which are awesome and I highly recommended it to anyone. Super Luigi Bros, not to easy, it messes your dexterity.
Still Nintendo needs to fix there problem, like making the 3Ds and Wii U region-free and make their VC cross-buy, I really hope Iwata does force to step down, plus companies should really do more compilation, I love those like the Sonic Genesis Collection and Sega Dreamcast Collection, etc… The problem with it is that they feel they are selling it at a loss because they could see it individually like the VC, I prefer to be in a compilation.
Anyway this was interesting, especially at the end, force Anthony to play games just to make the podcast “look cool”, lol… Good Luck…
